This beauty is Barkley, and we are hoping that the perfect forever home is out there for this sweet girl. She is a special gal who has a few quirks, but let’s face it...don’t we all?! Barkley is 4 years old, and we are told is a lab/boxer mix, but it’s possible she may have some pit in her as well. She does well with all dogs that are around her size or larger. She hasn’t lived with cats, but she has been a little too interested in the cats she has come into contact with...so we are recommending a cat-free home. Barkley’s ideal home would be a calm household on a quiet street with minimal visitors and a fenced-in yard. She tends to get nervous when meeting new people, and her forever family will need to understand that she’ll need some time and a safe space (her crate) to allow her to warm up and be more comfortable. Once she is bonded with her people she also tends to be a bit protective of them, so may need to be crated if new people visit her home. Barkley’s foster mom says once she is comfortable with people, she is so very sweet, goofy, cuddly, and lovable! She loves bones, playing ball, and her stuffed toys. She is crate-trained, keeps a very clean kennel, and is fully house-trained. She also loves playing and snuggling with her 4-legged foster siblings, so Barkley would love another dog in her forever home to both learn from and bond with. She also loves going for walks, but does need consistency and continued training when on-leash as she does get stressed and vocal when meeting other dogs/people when leashed. Having some yummy treats along on her walks definitely helps! She will need an experienced owner with an abundance of patience and grace. We are also recommending no young children in the home (kids ages 15+ would be best). We know that her perfect home is out there...and we would appreciate you sharing her gorgeous face so that we can all help Barkley find her forever! ❤️ **If you have any questions about Barkley, please feel free to reach out to us! Her adoption fee includes her spay, vaccines, heartworm test, and microchip. show less

Look at this gorgeous girl. 💕 This is Hollywood…she is a 2 year old shepherd mix, and we would love to be able to help her in finding her most perfect forever home. Before joining our awesome trainers at Fun Fur Pets, Hollywood found herself on the run as a stray in rural Minnesota for quite some time. Some community members + animal control were trying to catch her for over 2 weeks, when Hollywood finally got so tired and hungry that she laid down in the middle of the road and was able to be caught. She was SO shy and so terrified. Fast-forward, and Hollywood has since been working hard with on her socialization skills with our friends at Fun Fur Pets. She has come so incredibly far, but will still require a patient and very understanding family. Hollywood’s hesitancies are all fear-based, and she can still be pretty fearful of new men…so will need any males in her life to understand that she will warm up to them, but it has to be on her own timing. She has come to love all of the staff — both male and female — at Fun Fur Pets, but it has been on her time. We have no idea what trauma she went through to cause this, but we promise once she knows you and trusts you she really will give you her everything. Her shepherd love and loyalty is very strong! Hollywood loves other dogs, but would do best in a home without cats. Please SHARE…let’s find this beautiful lady the forever she deserves and has been patiently waiting for! 💜 APPLY HERE: https://newleashdogrescue.com (or private message us if you’re already preapproved).  **Hollywood’s $200 adoption fee includes her spay, vaccinations, heartworm test, and microchip. show less

This beautiful babe is still searching for a forever of her own (it’s hard to believe, we know!). Kai is a 2 year old [best guess] heeler/pointer mix, weighing in just around 40 lbs. She is a happy, energetic, and playful girl. Kai tends to be fairly calm inside the house (loves to lounge, loves her squeaky toys, and chewing on bones, etc.) but gets more excitable and energetic once she is outdoors. Similarly, during the day, she is wide awake and full of energy...while after supper she is ready to just settle in and snuggle/keep you warm. She LOVES to run, and is lightning fast! When outdoors, Kai is very focused on her surroundings and/or movement, such as wildlife and people + dogs walking by. Her foster family feels that she would do best in a home that has experience with a high energy pup like Kai. She is such a smart cookie; she knows how to sit, shake, stay, and does a good job of minding her manners. She is crate-trained and fully potty-trained. Kai has also spent some time with our amazing trainers at Fun Fur Pets, and below outlines further the ideal home environment to ensure that Kai (in all her energy!) is successful: 1️⃣ Kai needs a fenced-in yard (6ft+).  2️⃣ Kai loves other dogs and loves to play with them, so any other dogs in the home should also love to play. She plays pretty rough, so will need dogs her size (40 lbs) or larger. She would also do just fine as an only dog!  3️⃣ Kai needs a home with no kids (ages 16+ would be ok), as she has herding tendencies and will likely try to herd/chase them. 4️⃣ Kai needs a home without cats, chickens, or other small animals. All in all, Kai is truly such a fun-loving, energetic, goofy girl, who has such a zest for life! More than anything, she just needs that perfect family who understands her and her needs. If you think that’s you, please reach out to us (or complete an adoption application at https://newleashdogrescue.com) to learn more about adopting this beautiful girl! 💕 **Kai’s $200 adoption fee includes her spay, vaccinations, heartworm test, and microchip. show less

This handsome boy is King, and he is looking for a fun forever family to join! He is between 2-3 years old, weighs about 50lbs, and is a — best guess — cattle dog mix with the most gorgeous brindle coat. King is an energetic boy who would really do great in a home where he could get lots of exercise and go on lots of adventures. He walks very well on-leash and would make a fabulous running and/or hiking partner! King loves everyone and everything, but he still has a lot of puppy-energy and sometimes doesn’t understand personal space (cuddles and kisses anyone?!), so could definitely benefit from some training classes to freshen up on his manners. He also loves other dogs and loves to play, but since he needs work on his boundaries (again…no personal space!) any other dogs in the home should also be playful. King does love kids, but with his size and energetic nature we would recommend children who are a bit older/bigger. As of right now, it is unknown how he would do with cats. He is potty-trained and crate-trained, but can take just a little bit of time to relax and be content in his kennel. He is an adventurous boy who is looking for a lifetime of love and endless fun! If you think this happy boy is the right fit for you, please reach out to us and ask for King! 💙 APPLY HERE: https://newleashdogrescue.com (or private message us if you’re already preapproved!).  **King’s $200 adoption fee includes his neuter, vaccinations, heartworm test, and microchip. show less

Handsome mister Max is a 1 year old, 50lb pittie mix [with the most unique multi-colored eyes] who is looking for a forever home of his own…and he is sure to make some lucky family very happy! Max found himself with animal control down south when their facility was full. He was about to be put down due to lack of space, but — because of his awesome demeanor — Max had some amazing people in his corner, and (thank goodness!) his life was spared. Max has been a part of the New Leash crew for a few weeks now. Although his foster family loves him dearly, they also have kitties and we have learned that Max’s prey drive is a little too strong…and he needs a home where he can’t torment the cats/other small animals! He would also love a fenced-in backyard where he can run and play to his heart’s content. Max loves all people, other dogs, and overall is just a super friendly, sweet, and lovable dude. He enjoys couch cuddles, walks, and car rides. He does great with his potty-training if let out on a consistent schedule, and has been learning to be content in his crate at his foster home. Let’s find this boy a forever he can settle into! This precious peanut is Princess, and she would love nothing more than to land herself a family she can call hers forever. Princess is an 8 year old chi mix who weighs right around 15lbs. She is just the happiest little girl who absolutely loves everyone and everything! She is super cuddly, listens well, does great in her kennel, and is fully potty-trained. Some of her favorite things include belly rubs, chew toys, car rides, and relaxing outside on nice sunny days. She really isn’t the biggest fan of the cold/winter, so when that time rolls around she would really love some sweaters and blankies to keep her nice and cozy warm. Princess does suffer from occasional seizures, which we know can be incredibly scary, but she is on a daily prescription medication to help her in managing those. And have no fear, she takes her meds like a champ…if you put it inside a little piece of hotdog or cheese, she gobbles it right up! She does great with other dogs and we also think she’d do well with respectful children who are around ages 10+. She is hoping that someone who doesn’t mind giving her just that extra bit of care will fall for her adorable face, and will scoop her up and take her home forever! Just ask for Princess. 💕 APPLY HERE: https://newleashdogrescue.com (or private message us if you’re already preapproved!).  **Princess’ $200 adoption fee includes her spay, vaccinations, heartworm test, and microchip. show less

This cutie-patootie is Ramsey (female), and she is a sweet 9 month old bundle of joy! This girl weighs in right around 50lbs, and she is such a fun, rambunctious, goofy ball of energy. She will play outside for hours on end if there are other dogs around to keep her company. We think having another dog in the home [with similar energy/age/playstyle] would be super beneficial for Ramsey, as this is a surefire way to make sure she gets plenty of exercise! She can be a bit vocal when she’s attempting to get other dogs to play with her, but is also easily redirected. She can also tend to get overexcited when her humans come home and likes to jump up, but if you tell her to sit down and then give her love she listens very well. Ramsey loves toys that squeak and chewing on bones whenever possible! She is fully potty-trained and will ring a bell to let you know when she needs to be let outside. She is kennel-trained, but does do best with her crate in the same room as someone/another dog as otherwise she will let out some sad cries for just a bit. Another of her favorite pastimes is lounging on the couch next to you…or even on top of you! With a little bit of training [on not jumping, boundaries, and channeling her energy], Ramsey could be in a home with younger children, but otherwise we feel older kiddos (12+) would be best for this girl. She just loves her people wholeheartedly and will be your best friend until the end! Just ask for Ramsey. 🧡 APPLY HERE: https://newleashdogrescue.com (or private message us if you’re already preapproved!).  **Ramsey’s $250 adoption fee includes her spay, vaccines to date, and microchip. show less

This pretty lady is Sable, and she is a very timid but very, very sweet girl! She weighs about 25lbs, is 1-2 years old, and while we don’t necessarily know her breed mix...she likes to curl up into a little ball — resembling a fawn — when she sleeps. Sable will do best in an all-female home. She was previously in a home with males (it doesn’t matter if it’s adults or children), and she didn’t really begin to thrive until she moved to a foster with no males in the household. In addition, a quiet home with little traffic/visitors, and minimal household members would be best. Sable gets stressed when there is a lot of commotion, so would also need a home with either no kids or older kids (15+). She does take some time to adjust, but once she settles in she really loves sitting on/next to a warm lap every chance she gets! And Sable LOVES sleeping! She can nap, nap, and nap some more! She also likes having a spot on the couch or bed where she can retreat to if she needs to feel safe/secure. Sable loves making a nest out of blankets, especially fleece ones. She loves kongs (filled with peanut butter, of course!), bully sticks, and any kind of treat! She is still learning how fun balls and toys can be, but we are confident she’ll learn in her own timing. She really enjoys car rides, and she doesn't mind baths! She does great on walks and walking on-leash, but if you have to miss a day of walking she really doesn’t mind. She'll just nap a little extra that day! Sable will need another doggie friend in her forever home to help her confidence + show her the ropes, but she really prefers other mellow dogs. Hyper dogs can freak her out/confuse her, and she tends to bark at them. She also alerts her foster family when there are any visitors, as they do make her nervous (when the mail comes, someone gets close to the fence, walks by, etc.). Sable can jump very high, so a 6ft(+) fence will be required in her forever home. When it comes to potty-training, Sable won't ask to go outside so potty breaks do need to be offered to her. She does great with a good, consistent routine established by her people. We know that Sable needs a very special home, but if you give her just a few weeks of bonding time she will definitely open up and begin to show her sweet, cuddly side more and more. She just needs a patient mama/BFF/sidekick and a low-key home. She is SO incredibly sweet and has so much love to offer. Let’s find Sable the forever she deserves! 💕 If you are interested in adopting Sable, please submit a general adoption application at https://newleashdogrescue.com (or private message us if you are already preapproved!).  **Sable’s $200 adoption fee includes her spay, vaccinations, heartworm test, and microchip. show less

We know it’s hard to believe, but this beautiful boy is still in-search of a forever family he can call his own! Snowman was a Texas boy who found his way to Wisconsin…which we find very fitting, given his name! Snowman is a 3 year old, 70lb, Great Pyrenees mix who is equal parts fluff and love. Throughout his time with the New Leash crew, Snowman’s foster family has been able to learn lots about him and what his ideal forever would look like. He would LOVE a home with lots of room to run and play: such as a farm, or a big backyard (preferably fenced-in!). Snowman loves to go on adventures, explore, and sniff to his heart’s content, so would love the space to be able to do so. He is 100% potty-trained, does phenomenal on-leash, and loves kiddos! When it comes to other dogs in the home, Snowman does great with his 4-legged friends as long as they are smaller (in weight and stature) than he is. Larger dogs seem to intimidate him and — in typical pyrenees fashion — can cause him to become protective of his people. He can be totally trusted being left out in the house when his people aren’t home, which works out well as he is not a fan of his crate at all! Something to note: he does need a house with little to no stairs, as Snowman does have dislocated hips. Other than needing daily supplements, this doesn’t seem to slow him down much at all…he still loves to run and play like the rest of his 4-legged friends! However having a home with no steps (especially slippery ones!) will allow him to maneuver around as easily as possible. He is SUCH a sweet boy with endless love and snuggles to give. He has been dreaming of finding his forever for quite some time…we would love nothing more than to make his dream come true! Due to a change in circumstance, Theo finds himself in-need of a new foster and/or forever home. He is a 3.5 year old pittie mix who weighs in right around 50lbs. Theo’s ideal home would be one that’s calm and quieter. He is currently living in a busier house with several other dogs + children and this is just too stressful for him. We are recommending that Theo be the only pet in the home, as when other dogs are around he tends to get anxious, protective of his people, and can be reactive (toward the other dogs). Theo LOVES his humans, and more than anything he just wants to soak up all of the love and attention himself! Some of his favorite activities include car rides, walks, bones, playing with toys, and cuddling. He would be phenomenal with a single person and/or couple who is looking for a new BFF, walking buddy, and partner in crime. He does need his person to also advocate for him, as he can be nervous when new people come into his home…so he just needs some time and space to be able to warm up, and this is why a home with minimal visitors would be ideal. We know that there’s a home out there for every single pup, and that’s no exception for our boy Theo! He may be more introverted, but he is overflowing with love to give…he just needs the right person comes into his life. If you have any additional questions about Theo (and think he may be the right fit for you), please don’t hesitate to reach out to us! 💚 APPLY HERE: https://newleashdogrescue.com (or private message us if you’re already preapproved!).  **Theo’s $200 adoption fee includes his neuter, vaccinations, heartworm test, and microchip. show less

Hi! My name is Tips and I am an 11 year old German Shepard (aka, a princess). My perfect retirement castle would have a couch I can just lounge the day away on. My favorite things are pets, snuggles, and brushes…in that order! I like walks a lot, too. My foster mama says that I am one of the best dogs she has ever walked! I have to be honest, though…I am a hunter first, and good walker second. I just really want to chase squirrels! I will stop though if my foster mama says that’s “enough.” Speaking of enough…I kinda have had enough of other doggos. I think my retirement castle should allow me to be their one and only, as I really want to be the only royalty around so I can soak in alllllllll of the attention from my servants (I mean humans!). Although, I suppose cats might be fine. I haven't really seen much of my foster mom’s cats, but when they did walk by me I was hanging on the couch and didn't even bother to look up. I think if the cats in my forever home are dog-savvy we’d be jusy fine! My foster mama puts me in the kennel at night…that is if she can catch me first! Ha! She says she thinks I would also do just fine out of the kennel, too. I know some humans will call me “old,” but I have SO much life left in me and so much love to give! I would love a new foster home where I can have the humans all to myself…or better yet, take me home forever! 💜 APPLY TO ADOPT ME HERE: https://newleashdogrescue.com (or private message if you’re already preapproved!).  **Tips’ $150 adoption fee includes her spay, vaccinations, heartworm test, and microchip. show less

This handsome fella is Titus, and it hurts our hearts to say that he has been patiently waiting far, FAR too long to find a forever family of his own. Titus has a few quirks (let’s be honest, don’t we all?) but truly is SUCH a good boy, and sadly has been overlooked for months. Titus is a 2 year old pittie mix…and he is just as loving as he is handsome! He would love nothing more than to find his perfect home where he can hang out with his person during the day while they work, followed by nice evening walks around the neighborhood. Titus came to us pretty under-socialized, but he has spent the last several months working so hard on his confidence and has come so incredibly far in such a short amount of time. He does get pretty excitable when meeting new dogs, but if the other dog is quiet and respectful of Titus’ space then he tends to do ok. We feel that with the right 4-legged companion (based on energy + confidence level) he would be able to coexist with another dog just fine. However he would probably love even more to be your one and only! Titus LOVES his people, and really relies on his humans to show him the ropes, help him learn, and show him how to maneuver through life’s new experiences. He is fully potty-trained, kennel-trained, and does wonderfully (and is very polite!) when walking on-leash. We think Titus would do ok with kids who are a bit older (13+), but are recommending a home without young children. He also needs a home without kitties or other small animals. We would love nothing more than to start Titus’ summer out on the right paw by finding him a foster and/or forever home he can settle into. Hi friends! My name is Tricks and I am an 11 year old [female] German Shepherd. My favorite things include brushes, snuggles, and pets (alllllll the pets!). Even though I am 75lbs, I am a total lap dog. If my foster mom sits down on the floor, I will climb right into her lap. I have even learned that I can get away with that on the couch, too! I LOVE getting your love and attention! I also love nice short walks around the neighborhood. Not to brag…but I have pretty phenomenal leash manners! Well, except when there are birds or squirrels. My foster mom says I do correct well, though, when she wants me to keep on walking with her. Speaking of my foster mom…she puts me in the kennel at nighttime. Can you say rude?! In return, I sing the sad song of my people for a few minutes before I decide to settle down and sleep. I would probably be just fine out of the kennel; my foster mom can just be a worrywart! If she left me out and I could be on the couch all day + night I would be pretty darn happy! My ideal forever home…[I mean I’m 11, so at this point in life I know what I want!]…would have no other dogs. A calm, quiet, retirement home would be my dream. Although I would most likely do ok with cats. I haven't reacted to my foster mom’s cats at all, but they are also pretty dog-savvy.
